'Ilaignan' film written by Karunanidhi and produced by Martin is fast progressing in Ooty. Lyricist Pa. Vijay and the two heroines of the film Ramya Nambeesan and Meenakshi are giving their heart and soul in the film.

Kushboo who joined DMK recently is playing the central character that of a brave mother in the film which is based on the famous Russian novel 'Mother' by Maxim Gorky. It is story of affection between a mother and a son. Vadivelu, Nasser, Suman are also playing important roles.

'Ilaignan' borders a period film and so the team is striving hard to bring in authenticity to every scene they capture. The film will be shot in locations in Chennai, Pudhukottai, Ooty and Tirunelveli. For the song sequences ‘Ilaignan’ team will fly to Italy, Holland and Switzerland according to production sources.
